A review that made my day, thanks so much

Hi All,

Sorry for the delay in posting this (computer problems..!),
But just wanted to say what a great night I had at Ronnie Scotts on Wednesday 8th April.

Chris seemed really happy to be playing such a classy venue, and he, John Bentley and Dorrie played an excellent set. The old Squeeze numbers were very good (especially Slap and Tickle) but it was the songs from the "The Last Temptation" that really stood out for me.
Fat as a fiddle∑Battersea Boys and Never coming back sounded superb with Chris playing admirably well on guitar, his vocals were spot on, Dorrie added some nice backing vocal touches as did John Bentley, who also showed he is equally at home on a 6 string acoustic guitar ( as opposed to his usual 4 string Bass..!)

During the show, Chris mentioned he usually had a slide show to accompany each song. However, there was no slide show at this venue..& I think the gig was all the more better for it, as you could really focus in on the songs and the lyrical content. The sound quality was also the best I've heard at any venue a superb crystal clear PA system.

Once Chris had finished his set, we then had the bonus of watching Paul Carrack and his amazing band perform. A great set from Paul..(including of course a perfect rendition of Tempted..which will always be his song to sing∑plus some real gems from his Mike and the mechanics days)

But for me..the night belonged to Chris Difford. A master lyricist∑.who seemed delighted to be sharing his songs with us. I even got to shake hands and congratulate Chris at the end.
Some fantastic night..!
